Pre-registration open

The next edition of the Roseta Mauri International Dance Award will take place from March 11 to 14, 2026. For the first time, those young dancers who want to participate in the competition must have passed a video preselection process.
The Jury and teachers of this competition will be made up of relevant figures from the world of dance.

General info
1 — All dancers of any nationality between the ages of 16 and 21 (2010 – 2005), inclusive and as of the year 2026, are eligible to participate.
2 — Registered participants cannot hold any professional contracts during the competition.
3 — To participate in the competition, you must have passed a video pre-selection process.
4 — The Roseta Mauri International Dance Prize is worth 5,000 euros, with second and third prizes of 2,000 and 1,000 euros respectively. All cash prizes will be subject to the corresponding legal tax withholding. Payments will be made via bank transfer to an account number provided to the organisation. The organisation reserves the right to grant additional prizes, scholarships, and courses offered by other organisations, institutions, companies, or dance schools.
5 — The jury will be composed of notable figures from the world of dance.
6 — The performances will take place on the Teatre Fortuny stage. The stage has a proscenium opening of 9.10 metres, a depth of 10 metres, and a 5% slope. The competition will be held with general lighting and a backdrop cyclorama.
7 — The organisation is not responsible for any injuries that occur during the competition; it’s necessary for participants to have insurance.
Video Pre-selection

The pre-selection registration fee is 10 euros, which is non-refundable.
Candidates must include two videos demonstrating their skills in classical dance (video 1: exercises) and contemporary dance (video 2: exercises or variation).
The pre-selection jury will choose a maximum of 30 participants. The results will be announced via email by 15 December 2025.
The organisation reserves the right to request new videos if the submitted ones do not meet the required criteria. The selected participants will proceed to the next phase of the competition, which will be held from 11 to 14 March 2026 at the Teatre Fortuny in Reus (Spain).
Video Format
- The video link must be included in the pre-registration form.
- The participant's first and last name should only appear in the video file title. To ensure the selection process is as anonymous as possible, the video itself should not contain the participant's name, surname, or school.
- The video should be filmed with a static camera, preferably on a stand or tripod. However, the camera may follow the dancer's movements as long as it shows their entire body at all times.
- The video has to be filmed in a horizontal format, with the barre slightly diagonal and the center front-facing.
- The studio should be well-lit and the background as neutral as possible, without any logos or school names.
- The video content must not be edited. The audio cannot be recorded separately, and voices of teachers, etc., should not be audible.
- Please check the quality of the recording before submitting it.
Video Content
The video must be a maximum of 15 minutes long and should showcase both the candidate’s technical and artistic ability.
Classical dance video
BARRE (with soft ballet shoes)
Barre exercises should be performed on only one side for a maximum of 6 minutes, and all exercises must be on the same side.

Centre exercises should be performed on both sides.

- Combination of assemblés, jetés, sissonnes, etc.
- Grand allegro (32 counts)*
*Girls must also include a diagonal turn combination. Boys must also include cabrioles, entrechat six, and double tour en l’air.
Contemporary dance video
Exercise or variation with a minimum duration of 1 minute and a maximum of 2 minutes, 30 seconds.
Costume
Extracts from performances are not permitted.
Barre and centre:
Boys — Plain dark tights, a tight-fitting shirt/leotard in a colour that contrasts with the background. No leg warmers or baggy shirts are allowed.
Girls — Flesh-coloured tights and a leotard in a colour that contrasts with the background. No skirts, tutus, leg warmers, or baggy shirts are allowed
Contemporaryi:
Dancers should wear soft ballet shoes, socks, or be barefoot, and wear tight-fitting clothing.
How to Send the Video
You will need to include a link to the video in the form. Put the applicant’s name, but not the school’s, in the mp4 video file. The ideal dimensions are 1920 x 1080 and make sure the file is no larger than 2GB.
Upload the video to Vimeo or YouTube, this is the link that you must include in the pre-registration form. If you have a Vimeo Puls account, activate download in the settings, to download it. If you do not have the paid version of Vimeo or use YouTube, add a link to download the video file, you can use platforms such as WeTransfer, Transfernow or Smash (recommended because the link lasts 7 days). The video must be online, and we must have a copy of the file. If the link expires before downloading it we will contact you. Use the privacy settings if you do not want the link to be public, but make sure to include the password in the form.

Registration
Pre-selected individuals will receive an email link to complete their online registration. The registration deadline is 15 February 2026. Only registrations received within the stipulated period will be accepted.
The registration fee is 40 euros, which is non-refundable.
Under no circumstances will the registration fee be refunded.
Participants must present two variations:
Variation 1
One repertoire variation chosen from the list provided below. The music for the classical variation must be selected from the track list on the website; no other musical versions will be accepted.
Variation 2
One contemporary style variation with a maximum duration of 3 minutes. It is recommended that this variation demonstrates the dancer’s ability to adapt and interpret a different style.
You must include a link to download the music for the variation. The music file must be in MP3 or WAV format and have good quality, with no noise, cuts, or links that affect the quality of the piece. The duration cannot exceed 3 minutes, and the organisation reserves the right to reject recordings that do not meet these requirements. The choreography for the contemporary variation must be original.

Participation
The selected people will be able to participate in the next phase of the competition which will take place from March 11 to 14, 2026 at the Fortuny Theater in Reus.

The order of participation is determined by the assigned bib number. This order will be maintained throughout all the competition rounds.
Competition Rounds
ADAPTATION
On the 11th at 10:00 a.m., candidates will attend a classical dance class and a contemporary repertoire workshop with the competition’s official teachers. These sessions are for adapting to the stage space and are non-eliminatory.
ELIMINATORY AND SEMI-FINAL
On the morning of 12 March, there will be a classical class and a contemporary repertoire workshop behind closed doors, which accompanying teachers may attend. At the end of the class and workshop, the jury will eliminate any dancers who do not obtain a high enough score to advance to the next phase of the eliminatory round.
In the next phase, participants will perform their classical and contemporary variations on the theatre stage in the official competition attire. At the end of this round, the jury will decide who will advance to the semi-final.
On the same day in the afternoon, the semi-finalists must perform their classical and contemporary variations on the theatre stage in their stage costumes. This session is open to the public and will take place on the Teatre Fortuny stage in Reus. At the end of the performances, the jury will select the finalists, and the results will be announced on the same day.
FINAL
The final will take place on the same stage on 13 March and will be open to the public. The finalists will take a class on stage and dance their classical and contemporary variations in their stage costumes. After the performances, the jury will announce their verdict. The awards ceremony will follow, with the finalists in attendance.
Dance Gala
The winners of the top three prizes are obligated to participate in the dance gala that will take place on 14 March 2026 at 8:30 p.m. at the Teatre Fortuny. The organisation, according to the jury’s criteria, may also schedule other performances from specific calls or professional performances.
Travel and Accommodation Expenses
Photographs and Recordings
Recordings made during the competition with photographic, audiovisual, or other systems require the organisation’s authorisation. They will be the exclusive property of the Teatre Fortuny Foundation in terms of circulation, reproduction, distribution, projection, dissemination, or transmission.
The Teatre Fortuny Foundation and Consorci may use these recordings and images for promotional purposes. Participants in the competition permanently and irrevocably cede this right to the Foundation, without any time or location limitations.
Only the Organising Committee may enter into contracts with television channels or private individuals
Competition participants will not be entitled to any fees for the recordings made during the competition.
Right of Appeal
Only the Teatre Fortuny Foundation has the right to make final decisions on any variations to the competition rules
The jury’s decisions regarding the results of the elimination rounds and prize distribution are final, and no appeals will be accepted. In case of doubt regarding the interpretation of any part of the regulations, only the Catalan version of the established rules will be valid.
