The Basque dancer has danced abroad since she joined Roland Petit‘s company, in France. Lacarra has been principal dancer of the San Francisco Ballet and since 2002 until last season also in Munich Opera Ballet. She did her first dance steps in Mentxu Medel dance school, Thaila, in San Sebastian and she completed her training at Victor’s Ullate School. In this great Spanish master’s company she started dancing professionally. Lacarra’s repertoire comprises a wide range of classical, neoclassical and modern works; from Swan Lake, to Roland Petite’s ballets and Nacho Duato or Russell Maliphant’s choreographies. Amongst other acknowledgements, Lacarra has been awarded with a Benois de La Danse for her performance as Tatiana in John Cranko’s Onegin in 2003 and Premio Nacional de la Danza Spain in 2005. Currently, Dino and Lacarra are regular guest artists with the Dortmund Ballet and Russell Maliphant Company.
